Religion, State, and Values

Complete Separation Between Religion and State: There will be no public funding of religion, no construction of religious institutions with public funds, no Ministry of Religious Affairs, and no publicly funded religious officeholders. Religious institutions will be taxed in the same manner as any other body. The legal system will be entirely civil.
The Sabbath: Public services, with the exception of public transportation, will cease operating on the Sabbath and Jewish holidays. In the private commercial sphere, business owners will retain complete freedom to open or close, subject only to restrictions concerning noise and nuisances in residential neighborhoods, as defined by the local authority.
Kosher Certification: The state will enforce laws against fraud in kosher labeling, ensuring only the integrity of the label and applying no religious considerations of its own.
Burial: Burial services will be provided by private entities. The state will allocate land for cemeteries and issue vouchers covering the cost of a basic burial for every citizen, redeemable through any authorized provider. The state will establish a quality standard for basic burial services and will regulate and supervise their provision.
